10mm LED Red

These are general purpose large 10mm red LEDs with diffused lens and good brightness.

These are general purpose 10mm LEDs with diffused lens and good brightness that work well for general indicator use. The large size is handy when a larger indicator is desired.

The shorter of the two leads denotes the cathode.  Note that there is usually a flat surface on both sides of the housing, so you cannot rely on that as the cathode indication.

For size comparison, a 3mm, 5mm and 10mm LED are shown to the right.

A current limiting series resistor is needed to protect the LED and/or the device being used to drive it.
